Have you ever been there? I mean, where Job is at in today's reading? Just totally depressed? I'm thinking that probably most of us can recall at least a day or two, if not a year or two, when we prayed for relief, when we prayed in the anguish of our spirits, and complained in the bitterness of our souls. It is not a pleasant place to be. Yet, it seems that we all end up there at one time or another. Hopefully, we don't spend our whole lives there. I mean that seriously! God never intends for anyone to spend their whole lives in depression, without hope. If you spend and have spent all of your days in depression, please seek help. This is not the way that God intended you to live or for those around you to live. Yes, our depression affects those who love us as well.
It would do us all well, I think to step back and take a look at the whole story - to view the whole story of Job. The story begins with Job living a life blessed by God and it ends with the Lord blessing the latter part of Job’s life more than the first part of his life. The center of it was not so good, but the part that is not is surrounded by that which was. There is always hope, if we trust in the LORD, for His will is for the good of all who love Him.
