A promise or a threat....
Psalm 2 is worded in a way that it definitely sounds threatening. It is to those who reject the LORD's anointed. First off, this psalm reminds us that God appointed and anointed the kings of Israel and that the people ought not reject them. But, it is also a promise of even more. It is a promise that God will ultimately send His own Son, Jesus the Christ, to save the world and to rule it. We would be wise not to reject his sovereignty.
Jesus the Christ is our King! Thanks be to God!
