A watchman's duty is to warn the people of danger. Ezekiel is called as a watchman. It is his duty to share the word of the LORD with the people that they might repent and be saved. If a watchman does not do his duty, not only he, but all the people are in peril.
We, too, as Christians, are watchmen. We are to watch for impending danger and warn others. If the hearers actually listen and repent, they will be saved. If they do not; well, then... However, if we refuse to warn them of the dangers, then it is on our head. As watchmen, we have failed at our appointed call.
Ezekiel was a faithful watchman. May God help us to be, as well.
