Luke 8:40-56 Fear and faith

Luke 8:40-56 NIV
What does fear have to do with faith?

Today we have the stories of two separate healings. The first; a woman who was healed by merely touching the edge of his cloak, feared admitting that she, a woman, had touched him. But, Jesus knew. He had felt the power go out of him when she touched him and he commended her for her faith. "Then he said to her, 'Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.'" (vs 48)

Jairus, a leader in the synagogue, came and humbled himself at the feet of Jesus, begging him to come and heal his daughter who was dying. On their way to Jairus' home, they were informed that they needn't bother Jesus as she had already died. "Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, 'Don’t be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.'” (vs 50) And... she was. Jesus went to the home, told her to get up and she did.

Do not fear, your faith has made who whole. Go in peace.
