Psalm 21 - Rejoice and Trust in the LORD!

The king rejoices in the strength of the LORD. (vs 1 NIV).  Oh, but if all rulers of the earth would only rejoice in the LORD and not just in His strength, but in His grace and mercy, in His unfailing love.  If only the eyes of the rulers of the world would be opened that they could see the power of God.  Can you imagine how awesome the world would be if every knee would bow now, rather than later?

If only the rulers, and not just the rulers, but all of God's children would learn to really trust in the LORD.  The psalms that we have been reading the last couple of weeks do a lot of rejoicing that God will triumph over our enemies.  I have to admit that I'm not always sure how to read these psalms.  But, they have come at a very good time for me.  They have been a very good reminder that the victory over God's enemies belong to God.  It is He who will lay His hand upon His enemies who oppose His children.  It is He who will deal with those who would keep His children from worshipping and serving Him.  All we can really do is to trust the LORD that His will be done.

May we learn to trust in the Lord, for His unfailing love will not be shaken.

God's Peace - Pr. J
