Psalm 61 - Listen To My Prayer

"Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer." (Psalm 61:1 NIV)

Who else will listen?  Who else will answer?  None can hear or answer like the LORD, our God.

We are in the midst of Advent preparing for the Christmas season.  I know of no other season of the year when the level of grief is so high.  There is always grief, but it is accentuated during this season, as we remember loved ones who are no longer with us; loved ones who cannot prepare or celebrate the season with us.  So, ultimately many do not celebrate, but grieve and they grieve alone, with none to hear, but God.

The only comfort is God; by trusting in His promises we can find comfort and peace. We long to be closer to Him, to dwell in His Kingdom and to take refuge in the shelter of His wings so that we might find real comfort, real peace. (vs 4)

The Lord, our God, hears our prayers and answers.  May He bless you with the knowledge of His promises, through Jesus Christ, for you and for all who believe.  May He grant you comfort and peace in His presence.

God's Peace - Pr. J
